Art Deco Four-Drawer Bleached Mahogany Serpentine Front Commode

About the Item

Bleached and toned mahogany four-drawer commode by the fine furniture maker, Empire Furniture Company of Rockford, Illinois. Serpentine front is set off by canted front legs and brushed brass ribbon pulls with red and yellow veined Bakelite spacers. Veneered top has a beveled surround. The Empire Furniture Company was one of several well made furniture manufactures in Rockford in the early part of the 20th century. Quality and design on par with Edward Wormley's work for Dunbar.
