About the Item

The unique and handsome English-made Wood & Hogan Chippendale style serpentine front commode on stand is made from selected Mahogany and is exquisitely carved by hand. The top two fitted box drawers are active; underneath them are false drawers concealing a generous cupboard space. The hand carved gadrooning along the top edge, solid brass ornate handles and the shaped carved legs with pierced brackets are elements that make this piece a true connoisseur piece. French polished. Wood & Hogan, established 95 years ago, has built an enduring reputation as the premier purveyor of high-end traditional furniture for the design trade. Nestled within its workshop, Wood & Hogan embodies the very essence of timeless craftsmanship, where each piece of furniture is a masterpiece meticulously crafted by hand. Every item that leaves the Wood & Hogan workshop is bench-made by artisans who carry generations of knowledge and a deep respect for traditional woodworking techniques. Using only the highest quality materials—hand-selected woods, fine veneers, and premium upholstery—these skilled craftsmen transform raw materials into heirlooms. They combine classic designs with modern resilience, creating pieces that not only evoke the elegance of the past but are also built to last well into the future. Wood & Hogan's legacy goes beyond just quality materials and skill; it's a story of passion for authenticity. Over the years, the company has maintained a close relationship with the design trade, partnering with renowned designers who appreciate the brand’s dedication to quality and heritage. From luxurious dining tables to stately armchairs, every piece is a testament to tradition and craftsmanship. For Wood & Hogan, each furniture item is not simply a product, but a bridge between eras, seamlessly blending historical reverence with modern-day functionality. As they look toward the future, Wood & Hogan continues to honor their 95-year legacy, ensuring that each piece remains an enduring symbol of craftsmanship and elegance, sought after by the most discerning designers and homeowners around the world.
