French 18th Century Louis XV Period Three-Drawer Bombee Shaped Commode

About the Item

An exceptional French 18th century Louis XV period cherry wood, ormolu, and Incarna Turquin marble commode. The three drawer chest is raised by elegant cabriole legs with fine ormolu sabots and beautifully curved movements continuing up the sides. At the center is one large drawer below two smaller drawers, each decorated with charming and most decorative inlaid floral designs with ebonized fruitwood leaves and scrolled foliate ormolu pull keyhole escutcheons. Above is the original Incarna Turquin marble top with a fine mottled border. All original gilt throughout.
