Martinsville 7 Ft Long Chest of Drawers, Ivory with Gold Hardware & Accents

An American wood-carved raised side chest with drawers, circa 1960's. This mid-century commode was created "from the work rooms and show rooms of Greenbaun Interiors" and is a very well made piece. It features a rectangular-shaped top with ebony inlay in the center and accenting the perimeter edges, atop a case which houses a pair of stacked drawers set between fluted side posts. The ebony trim continues on to the drawer fronts, outlining the panels, on diamond accents found along the skirt on either side, and wrapping the feet. This chest is presented on four squared legs, which taper gently towards their feet. This mid 20th century raised chest with two drawers will make a great end table for a seating arrangement, or small case piece...

Hollywood glamour then and now, this Viennese Collection chest of drawers was designed by the Queen of Hollywood Regency - Dorothy Draper - in the early 1960s and features solid brass rectangular pulls centered amidst incised rectangles set in an octagonal drawer front pattern, circa 1960. Dorothy Draper's incised pattern purposefully blurs the rectangular drawer fronts and instead focuses the admirer on the glamorous honeycomb pattern outlined in gold lacquer and finished with glowing solid brass drawer pulls. She transforms a large, functional three drawer chest into an artistic object with golden shapes and textures.
