Rare Pair of Geo II Chest on Chests

About the Item

A one off pair of Geo II mahogany chest on chests of compact size, the flat tops with moulded edges and canted corners running full height of the chests, the fronts with sets of graduating drawers still retaining all their original brass penny back plate and swan neck handles, with broad waist moulds to house pull out slides enclosed to the sides, and all raised on their original bracket feet. A rare article of furniture in super untouched condition and colour. Almost certainly by one of St Paul’s Churchyard cabinet makers, known for producing quality items of the era. Circa 1750. 39” wide x 65.5” high x 25” deep. Provenance; From Historical Royal residence Corsham Court in Wiltshire belonging to the Methuen Family. Price includes free delivery throughout the UK.
