About the Item

An eclectic personality, from his early days he was active in the fields of architecture, painting, graphics and set design. He graduated in architecture from the Milan Polytechnic in 1920. In 1926 he founded-with editor Gianni Mazzocchi-the magazine Domus, which he directed until his death. In 1931 he was called to the artistic direction of Luigi Fontana, and in 1932 - together with Pietro Chiesa - he founded FontanaArte. In 1952 he founded the Ponti-Fornaroli-Rosselli studio with architect Alberto Rosselli. Here he began the period of most intense and fruitful activity in both architecture and design, abandoning the frequent references to the neoclassical past and focusing on more innovative ideas. Here we have a credenza with a wooden structure, supports and drawers, lacquered wood door and beveled glass top designed by Gio Ponti and produced by Dassi in 50s. Good condition, fully original. We recommend wooden crate for shipping to prevent glass damage.
