A 1950s solid mahogany Four Doors Virrey Credenza designed by Edmond Spence for Industria Meublera Mexico. Featuring brass studs and contrasting silver plated hardware. Behind Each side door; one removable tray and four ample drawers with an interesting design to the front. Behind each center door one removable tray and one sliding shelf. The original Catalogue states: “Sturdy rich and elegant this credenza is a contemporary interpretation of the typical Mexican furniture of the 17th centuries. Lavish use of Ornamental silver (oversized pulls, hinges, and diamond shaped head nails) express the revival in a contemporary elegance. The case made of solid mahogany reveals interiors engineered to offer utmost storage convenience for either household items, or wearing apparel. This design may well become one of tomorrow’s heirlooms.“ Dimensions: 80” Wide x 21.25” Deep x 33” Height. Condition: Mahogany newly restored. Some wear to the silver plated hardware. Replaced magnetic catch on center door. Felt lined trays have disintegrated so its more of a green paint with losses. Chip to rear leg. Not seen when against the wall. Shows very well.
