Florence Knoll 'Model 116' Iron Leg and Grass Cloth Credenza for Knoll, 1950s

About the Item

A maple, grasscloth and leather 'Model 116' cabinet designed by Florence Knoll in 1948 for Knoll Associates. The credenza features a pair of sliding doors with grasscloth fronts and stunning, hand stitched saddle leather handles, opening to a white interior with two adjustable shelves and lots of storage space. The cabinet is raised on the original round, black enameled steel legs, each showing beautiful toasty patina. The top of the credenza was executed in a fantastic custom ordered faux maple formica, which will fool even the most discerning eye. It literally looks just like real wood. This makes owning the piece that much easier because you can put anything on top of the credenza without worrying about damaging the surface..plants, hot coffee, cold beers, whatever your heart desires; it will never leave a water ring! Makes the perfect media console or buffet. A timeless piece easily integrated into any style home or office.
