1950 Desk "Model 80" by Franco Albani for Knoll, 1949-1954

Minimalist desk Franco Albini for Knoll International, European mid-century modern desk from the 1950s. Authentic "model 80" desk - 1949 - 1954. Rare first version with the X-shaped crossbar. Structure in white lacquered steel, suspended box in black waxed solid wood, glass top. Double face, niche at the back. Franco Albini's work represents a keystone of Italian architectural culture in the early 20th century. He had a creative and rigorous approach to composition and construction that expressed a particularly high degree of aestheticism. Albini was a highly regarded architect, working on important architectural projects in Italy.
