Italian 19th Century Venetian Patinated and Giltwood Writing Desk/Side Table

About the Item

A charming and extremely decorative Italian 19th century Venetian patinated and giltwood writing desk/side table. The desk is raised by elegant cabriole legs with scrolled feet and wonderful hand-painted foliate patterns and rich foliate giltwood carvings. The arbalest shaped frieze, with one central drawer, displays fine floral hand-painted designs and a rich central scrolled giltwood seashell reserve. Above is the brown gold-tooled leather writing surface framed in a patinated border with a giltwood band. All original paint and gilt throughout.
