About the Item
This tallboy dresser with figured claro walnut was originally designed for one of our early studio patrons who owned a historic Santa Fe home. Historic homes in this city are notorious for having no closet space and having small bedrooms. Those two design constraints led to this elegant tall thin dresser. The case of the dresser is solid walnut mitered together in the top corners with tapered legs continuous with the wood of the case. The dresser has six equally spaced drawers with two doors above them. The doors conceal an open compartment. The drawers are solid dovetailed walnut and mounted with euro style under mount soft-close slides. The pulls for this piece are custom made in our shop from brass and leather. They are recessed into the top of the door and drawer faces to be flush with the surface. They are pleasing to touch and patina beautifully over time. The faces for the dresser are made from shop laid veneer of exceptional Claro Oregon Walnut. The finish is a durable low sheen spray finish.

Boyd & Allister is a custom furniture studio located in Santa Fe, New Mexico. We have been hand making furniture for designers and architects around the country since 2010. We custom make each piece using traditional joinery methods and hand select each piece of wood. We source our wood from small sawyers around the country who bring the same level of care to their craft as we bring to ours. Many of our designs are inspired by mid century masters; timeless with clean lines, allowing the beauty of the wood to shine.
Available in walnut, cherry, white oak and ash
Comes with a durable low sheen spray finish but is available in an oil and wax for no additional cost if desired
