Antique Louis XV Style Oak Secretary Desk
About the Item
Louis XV style oak secretary desk with intricate and highly detailed carvings on front, top and sides. The scalloped door, with a working key, drops down supported by two pull-outs. The secretary opens to reveal four serpentine drawers, four short drawers and a secret panel. The front of the cabinet with a solid panel flanked by two short drawers above a long drawer. The drawers with large carved pulls emitting from a carved foliate back-plate. The sides of the cabinet handsomely carved with a dentil-like motif. The whole resting upon cabriole legs with hoofen feet.
Dimensions: 38 1/2" W, 22 1/2" D, 39 3/4" H
Additional measurements: 29 1/8" to top of writing surface, 37 1/4" D with drop down door open.
Condition: Please see detail photos. The Desk has a smooth patina with time worn impressions, repair, scratches and minor age cracks which do not detract from the very fine antique presentation.

This original 18th century Louis XVI Secretaire has a stunning veneer and marquetry.
