Louis XV Style Bombe Secretary Inlaid Marquetry, Signed, Henry Dasson.

About the Item

Louis XV style bombe secretary inlaid marquetry, Ormolu Mounted. Signed Henry Dasson. This 19th century bombe tulipwood secretary is built with superior craftsmanship and intricate marquetry. A pull down door reveals an inside compartment with four drawers and a leather writing surface. The secretary is raised on cabriole legs and it is decorated with magnificent ormolu mounts. It is stamped in the wood G. DURAND (Gervais Maximilien Eugene Durand, 1839-1920). He was one of the most popular French Ebenistes of the 19th century. Each ormolu casting is monogramed and numbered. Henry Dasson (1825 - 1896) Bronze Sculptor. Condition is very good. Few minor veneer losses. Measurements: H 51” x W 22” x D 13”     Weight: Approximately 80 lbs.
