About the Item

The wine stand holds 20 bottles of your favorite cru in gorgeous teakwood. The wood is special. It is from the second half of the 20th century with expertly crafted wrought iron in a wine rack with a beautiful wood patina. The rectangular frame is fitted with five four-bottle racks, and the sides are decorated in a foliate wrought iron design. This rack is small enough to rest on a table top or on the floor. It is deceptively heavy, but this adds to the stability and solid construction of a beautiful wine stand. This is an elegant country piece with a rustic quality that is ready for installation. But the standout here is the color and patina of this teakwood which came from Zimbabwe. Most teak comes from Southeast Asia, but in the colonial era, considerable amounts of teakwood was produced in Africa. This was known as "Rhodesian teakwood." The rack is 28.5 inches tall, 22 inches wide and 8 inches deep.
