About the Item

Stunning sideboard in solid pine by Biosca, Spain 1960s. Strong brutalist design made from raw solid pine with a beautiful, outspoken grain. The sideboard features wonderful details, such as the exposed finger-joint connections, the raw brushed texture of the surface, and, of course, the refined crafted cassette doors with their striking graphic pattern. The combination of these elements and its craftsmanship results in a powerful, highly desirable piece. The sideboard presents a compelling fusion between traditional Spanish Neoclassicism–Colonial style and modernist lines. The use of materials is honest and stood in stark contrast to the mass-produced furniture of that era. The sideboard remains in excellent condition, with a rich and authentic patina.
