About the Item

This magnificent set of three center display cabinets, model "Brera," was designed by Piero De Martini for Cassina in 1982. Crafted from matte green-petrol lacquered oak with an open-pore finish, the cabinets feature elegant black lacquered metal inserts and tempered glass doors. The back is made of painted wood, and the adjustable feet enhance their functionality. Inspired by a classic style, these display cabinets are perfect for furnishing any environment, adding a touch of sophistication. The original conditions are truly very good, making this set an ideal choice for those seeking a timeless design piece. Biography of Piero De Martini Piero De Martini was born in Milan in 1939 and graduated in Architecture in 1964. He began his career in residential construction and conservation restoration. From 1969, he dedicated himself to design, collaborating with Cassina from 1975. This partnership led to the creation of the famous "La Barca" program, which includes natural ash elements such as sofas, tables, and beds. His working method has always been based on close collaboration between designers, craftsmen, and art directors from the prototype definition stage. He has designed numerous products for Cassina and other companies, with a particular focus on home furnishings, receiving recognition in various publications and exhibitions. In addition to his career as a designer, De Martini studied piano and became a passionate musicologist. In 2009, inspired by a phrase from Massimo Mila, he wrote "Il Conservatorio delle Alpi," which narrates the history of the SAT Choir (Società Alpinisti Tridentini), intertwining his passion for mountain songs with the choir's story. In 2018, he published "Le case della musica," an intimate journey into the homes of some of the greatest composers, and in 2020 he released "Schumann." The latest chapter of his literary career is "Johannes Brahms. Autobiography of the Young Artist," published in 2021.
