This account is operated by five different companies. I, on the other hand, specialize in Japanese antiques and selected items. With 20 years of experience, I am re-proposing Japanese antiques from a new perspective. This is a very old modern style large Tansu made in Japan. This furniture is from the Meiji era. (1860's-1920's) The material is composed of cedar wood and pine wood. This is the first Tansu I have encountered in my 20 years of buying. I am sure that I will never encounter it again. It looks like a piece of furniture that was custom-made for a temple, and it was used to store old books. The sliding lattice door, made with a special technique, creates shadows and a beautiful scene. It is a true embodiment of Japan. Careful and careful maintenance has been carried out so as not to spoil its beauty over time. The sliding doors open and close smoothly. The entire furniture has been washed in water and disinfected. You can use it with peace of mind. There are no insect infestations and it is in the best condition. This Tansu recalls the spirit of the Japanese philosophy of “wabi-sabi,” which finds beauty in imperfection and impermanence. It is a beauty that is modest and humble, unconventional and the opposite of vulgar. It is a unique and very rare piece of furniture. It weighs approximately 60 kg. Since ancient times, people have created and passed down necessary tools from familiar materials to survive in the severe struggle against nature, and have nurtured a lifestyle culture. By using these objects over a long period of time, they accumulate a flavor and reflect a way of life. In today's world, where cheap and disposable items are encouraged, the act of repeatedly re-creating things around us by modifying them opens up a new world. With this philosophy in mind, we collect beautiful, powerful, and unique carefully selected antiquities from Japan.
