About the Item
Mid 19th century Swedish birch buffet sideboard circa 1840.
We are pleased to offer this stunning piece of mid 19th century craftsmanship found on our travels around Scandinavia.
Large piece comprising of 2 sections. Shaped top with decorative molding. 2 mirrors flanked either side by a single door cupboard, decorated with a tracery detail, each containing a ply shelf. Breakfront shaped lower section with 3 deep drawers below the serving surface, with 3 seperate cupboards below each containing 2 shelves for storage. Further molded florals and swags applied to the door fronts. All doors and drawers fitted with working locks and key. Standing on a plinth base.
Recently restored in our workshop and hand polished, retaining its rich golden colour.
Minor surface marks to woodwork, minor plate loss to original mirrors.
