About the Item

This is an exceptionally rare to the US (nearly) 8-feet wide four-bay sideboard in teak made by Bernhard Pedersen, ca. 1960, Denmark. It was not imported to the US, but rather brought back by an Army veteran in 1982 after he served in Munich Germany for 12 years. He purchased this in Denmark while he was there and shipped it back. It then sat in his rural Pennsylvania farmhouse attic for the next 40 years. When I found it it was very dirty and in rough shape. I spent a long time cleaning all the dirt and grime off the piece. I then sanded the top and then oiled everything with Watco Danish oil. There was originally a bottle rack on the inside of the left door where there is bar space. The bottle rack was broken when I found it, so I removed it, cut the bottom off, and glued it back to the door to make a more presentable look. What now exists is my best attempt at making this a usable piece of furniture for another 60+ years. It is priced accordingly. Condition: See description above. This piece is in restored condition. The middle doors both have pulls that have old repairs where the pulls cracked. The repairs have held for more than 45 years and are not noticeable to my eye. The left door hinges have been repaired where they sagged from the load of the bottle holder. There are scratches and marks on the left side - see photos. There is a small area of veneer loss at the bottom of that door. All drawers move, though are bit tight at times. Dimensions: 95.75” wide x 18” deep x 32.5” high
