About the Item

Swedish country furniture sideboard in folk art from northern Sweden. The sideboard is from the early 1800s, likely the years around 1810 to 1820. It’s painted pine and in the untouched original condition with paint from the mid 1800s. There are small glimpses of the first original paint where the surface is distressed, a slightly darker white or grey. The locks and key are later but in working condition. This is an untouched furniture with character in original condition, there has been no restorations or touch ups more than a thorough clean. There are some traces and marks as well as distress and patina after over 200 years of use. However it’s still a solid and stable, working furniture which is likely to last another 200 years. Good space for storage. Height to the table top is 121 cm and the edge is another 6.5 cm.
