About the Item
Hand‑made in Spain in the early 1940s, this solid oak sideboard showcases the bold geometry and honest materials that define brutalist design. Four sculpted doors display an irregular, sculptural relief that catches the light and lends the cabinet a strong architectural presence. Patinated iron locks and bolts punctuate the warm timber and provide a handsome contrast to the richly grained oak.
Unlike many Spanish brutalist pieces that veer toward ornate baroque, this example maintains a restrained balance that feels at home in both rustic and contemporary interiors. Generous interior shelving offers ample storage, making the piece as practical as it is striking. A matching smaller cabinet is also available.
Excellent original vintage condition with only the light, even wear you would expect from careful use over eight decades. The doors operate smoothly, the ironwork is secure, and the finish shows an attractive, authentic patina.
