Very Fine Custom French Cherry Breakfront
About the Item
Massive French cherry biblioteque breakfront, cavetto cornice top with center arch above a carved central floral basket and flowering vines on the sides. The shaped projecting front with double mullioned doors, brass hinges and fine brass escutcheons, flanked by rectangular mullioned doors. The white painted interior with two adjustable shelves each section. The bottom cabinet with a narrow shaped shelf, center projecting double doors with brass keyholes and two side doors, all with shaped recessed panels, opening to single shelves. The shaped base with carved center basket and floral vines at the sides. Cabriole feet in front and block feet at back. Lacking keys.
Condition: Please see detail photos. Various signs of age include some stains to the shelves, stable interior cracks to the left section side and bottom, and the center section bottom with various slight dings and scratches which does not detract not detract from the particularly fine Provincial French presentation.
