About the Item

Simply the best armoire I have ever seen. This incredible work of art is from the 18th century and made in the south of France of walnut. Clearly an important commission of the time, this armoire features the “tree of life” as the subject on the walnut canvas. The top is chip Carved branches, the handle is the tree and the base has an almost art nouveau feeling trunk. Stylistically this armoire seems about 200 years ahead of its time but the hand wrought nails, patina and hand tool marks clearly place this beauty in the 18th century.
