About the Item

This extremely rare bar cart is a rare and original example of American Art Deco design, by the renowned designer Gilbert Rohde in the 1930s. Rohde was a pioneer of modernism and worked for several prominent furniture companies, including Herman Miller and Troy Sunshade. This bar cart features a sleek and streamlined chrome frame with two tiers of shelves, a handle, and two working wheels for easy mobility. It is not only a practical and versatile piece of furniture, but also a work of art that showcases Rohde’s mastery of form and function. It has a timeless and elegant appeal that will complement any decor style, from classic to contemporary. Very few examples of this cart are accessible online, though one example is currently housed on the Decorative Arts floor at the Brooklyn Museum. Sticker still present under shelf though graphic/text has faded completely.
