About the Item

Dynamic, versatile, “the life of the party,” we’re not talking about you. Or are we? This Poul Hundevad Danish teak serving cart is more than meets the eye. Compact and unassuming until the party starts. Slide the top tray and position the bottom tray beside it. You’ve doubled the table top to 59 inches! This cart is the perfect party pal for those living in tight spaces. Only 30.25″ long when compact, it takes up little space. When it’s time for a gathering you can turn this baby into a full bar or buffet. Note the fine details like the exposed finger joints and elegantly turned legs. Leave it to the Danes to design such a brilliant, beautiful piece of furniture. This listing is for the cart alone. Accessories and chair pictured are not included. The trays and body have been refinished. Overall dimension: 30.25” - 59" Long x 20” Wide x 23.5” High Top Tray: 29.5” Long x 17.5” Wide x 1.25” High Bottom Tray: 30.25” Long x 17.5” Wide x 1.25” High

Lighted Custom Made Modern Cherry Buffet Dry Bar With Wine Rack and Bar Cart
By Arne Vodder, Foster-McDavid, Brown Saltman, Jens Risom
Located in Chattanooga, TN
Please believe me when I say pictures don't this piece justice. The cherry wood shimmers and gleams with an almost indescribable Iridescence that looks like rivers of honey that form the ebbing and flowing grain. The tones and hues of the piece change depending on how the light hits it and where your eye catches it. You'll see amber, ochre, honey, and umber. We purchased this cabinet from the son of the original owners who had it custom made in the 1970's. Although it looks similar to the works to Jens Risom, Arne Vodder, and Brown-Saltman, this is a custom, made 1 of 1 credenza. There are many unique aspects to this piece that seem inspired by many designers of the period. A large cherry door on the left conceals open cabinet space with removable / adjustable shelves. The right has a faux-door panel that is made to resemble the one on the left. However, this faux-door is actually the front panel to a roll-out bar cart. This handsome server sports two drop-leaves that double its counter space. This mini buffet...

Svend Madsen for Karl Lindegaard Danish Teak End Tables Set
By Svend Åge Madsen, Karl Lindegaard
Located in Chattanooga, TN
Gorgeous, large Danish teak end tables produced by Svend Madsen for Karl Lindegarrd. These Mid-Century Modern lamp tables are finished on all sides, and feature elegant styling and expert Scandinavian craftsmanship. A single drawer on each table provides ample storage without compromising the overall modern aesthetic. The solid teak wood legs are a bit thicker than typically seen on Danish furniture. Theses gently contoured legs mimic the humanist feel of the rounded edges on the table tops. Subtly bowed, solid teak edge banding punctuates the far ends of the table tops. These tables are stamped with the Svend Madsen label and marked made in Denmark. Both of the table tops have been refinished. The more than half-a-century old teak wood maintains a warm orange tone that only comes with age. As is the case for many Scandinavian designers from the mid-century period, little biographical information on Danish designer Svend Åge Madsen has survived. What is known has been gleaned from vintage dealers working with limited archival materials, like sales catalogues. Outside of Nordic countries, the designer’s name is often written "Svend Aage Madsen”. While some rare designs date from the late 1950s, the overwhelming majority of Madsen’s furniture was designed in the 1960s. Madsen’s creations epitomize the Danish modern style: he favoured warm teak and rosewood, organic silhouettes, and minimal decorative details. More specific features of his work include “boomerang” legs; sloped, arching desk...
