Georgian mahogany circular Tripod Table with piecrust top

About the Item

An exceptional early George III period figured mahogany circular tripod table with profusely carved legs and stem and piecrust edged top. This outstanding table is in fine original condition and illustrates one of the best carved bases I have seen in over forty years of dealing in Geogian furniture. Stem is writhen turned in two setions almost to the very top. An alternating band of gadrooning and scooping then sits on an acanthus knop followed by a band of egg and dart above the acantus knees to well shaped legs terminating in ball and claw feet.
