About the Item
The pebble table by Nada Debs. Five top on solid brass base. Four black lacquer pebble tops and one brass. Signed by the artist.
Just installed in BG Galleries' market stall in the Boston Design Center, this particular table is available for immediate delivery.
I regard Nada Debs' pebble table as truly one of the most important and certainly one of the first truly original designs of the 21st century, in the way Bauhaus designers' cantilevered chair was to the 20th century.
The pebble table is available for custom order through BG and can come with either five or seven tops on a base of solid brass, stainless steel or polished nickel. The tops are high gloss lacquer in many colors or even metal to match the base. Lead time is six weeks on average.
Each table is signed by the artist, Nada Debs, whom BG Galleries exclusively represents in New England. Nada was raised in Japan, studied interior architecture at RISD and returned to her roots in Beirut in 2000 where she uses her multi-cultural background to create modern designs with appeal to a global audience, harnessing the craft skills and traditions of the local people updated for the 21st century.
The base is a tour de force of sophisticated engineering. Solid brass uprights are tapered and in invisible sections connected by cross stretchers allowing for maximum flexibility of movement. The pebble table is fun so feel free to play with it a figure 'S', a circle, a line, a V it is capable of more positions than a politician!
If you have the space why not mix a five top with a seven top in two different color combinations.
Can't decide on a color scheme? You don't have to. You can order additional tops in different colors to change tops as the season, occasion or your mood dictates. Tuck them away with the leaves to your dining table until you want them.
Whether your decor is modern, Minimalist, Provincial or Period Federal, I can't think of a decor with which the pebble table would not be at home.

Measurements:
For the seven top: 94.5 W x 22 D x 21 H extended 59 W x 33.5 D x 21 H compact for the five top: 69 W x 22 D x 21 H extended 41 W x 32 D x 21 H compact.
The organically shaped tops come in three sizes: 18", 15.5" and 12.5".
The crossbars between the legs are equidistant at 14.5".

Nada Debs
A native of Lebanon, Nada Debs grew up in Japan and studied at the Rhode Island School of Design. Today, she lives and works in Beirut, where she leads a team of 20 people and works across disciplines, from product and furniture design to craft, art, fashion and interiors.
“My aim has always been to start with traditional techniques and skills and then inject a bit of life and fun into them by taking a more contemporary approach,” Debs says. “Ultimately, my brand is about reinventing craft and placing it within a modern context. I strive not only to preserve traditional craftsmanship but also to widen design boundaries while continuing to preserve inherent core values. I refer to this process as ‘handmade, heartmade.’”
