Very tasteful square table, Secession, Art Nouveau Jugendstil, 1910 Austria
About the Item
Extraordinary cocktail table or coffee table, an original from the Art Nouveau period around 1910, made in Austria.
A high-quality work made of precious wood, elaborately veneered on a spruce substructure. This is veneered with two different types of mahogany. The table has a carved surrounding decorative ebonized wooden band. The base of the table has a metal finish, typical of this period, which was hammered by hand to achieve a particularly decorative effect.
The basic shape of the table is square, the base and as well the table top. The table top has an insertable glass top.
