20th century Italian Mahogany and Inlaid Kingswood Console Table

About the Item

One of Italy's premier furniture makers were a group of skilled craftsmen from Cantu (near Milan) that formed the Consorzio La Permanete Moblili Cantu in 1893 see label inside drawer. During the 1930s these craftsmen based their work on replicas of past styles. We think this Regency style console dates from about that time. Made of Fine mahogany and inlaid Kingswood, features include ebonized legs with gilding, intricate dove tailed drawers, original brass ormolu mounts and gold leaf caps. The rare black Portoro marble top is reverse beveled. This is a very sought after petite size. See measurements below.

    Wear consistent with age and use. Very good condition for the age with very minor signs of wear. Since many of our pieces are well over one to two hundred years old, there is no way for us to detect every expert repair that may have been previously made.
