A good French 1st. Empire "Retour d'Egypte" Console, the rectangular surface with later black marble top above a single frieze drawer, supported by a pair of caryatids modeled as female heads, on platform base, with mirrored back.
This furniture became fashionable after Napoleon's return from Egypt.
