About the Item

keywords: Art Deco console table, wrought iron and marble, Verde Alpi marble, Edgar Brandt style, 1930s Italian design, hand-forged iron, decorative ironwork, entryway furniture, sculptural console, Parisian Art Deco influence, handcrafted workmanship, Art Deco console table, wrought iron and marble, Verde Alpi marble, Edgar Brandt style, 1930s Italian design, hand-forged iron, decorative ironwork, entryway console, Parisian Art Deco influence, sculptural console table Elegant and refined, this 1930s Italian console is a remarkable example of Deco design, inspired by the ornamental and sculptural style of Edgar Brandt. The frame is made of hand-forged wrought iron, with curly motifs and sinuous scrolls, typical of the art of decorative ironwork between the two wars. The top and base are made of precious Verde Alpi marble with intense emerald hues and natural veining. The console combines textural sturdiness and visual lightness, making it perfect for entryways, hallways or reception areas. The iron craftsmanship and choice of materials are reminiscent of the poetic-industrial language that made Edgar Brandt famous in the Paris of the 1920s and 1930s. A piece of high craftsmanship and great decorative impact. Edgar Brandt (1880-1960) was a French master blacksmith, designer and innovator of Art Deco style wrought iron. Famous for his ability to fuse artistic craftsmanship and industrial technique, he created gates, furniture, lamps and architectural elements that elevated iron to an expressive language. He participated in the historic 1925 International Exposition in Paris, establishing himself among the absolute protagonists of European Deco.
