About the Item

A deeply and sharply hand-hammered console in the style of Giovanni Banci in the modern neoclassical spirit. This Mid-Century piece features a dramatic hand-wrought ancient Celtic symbol in the centre panel. The top is composed of Italian travertine. The ironwork in this piece is reminiscent of Diego Giacometti's work and also recalls the work of Jean Michel Frank and great French ironworkers, Gilbert Poillerat and Raymond Subes.

Large Elegant French Mid-Century Modern Cross-Form Console / sofa table, in the style of Jacques Quinet, with a sober, modern sensibility in hand wrought iron that has been hand gilt.
