Italian Pair of Wall Consoles Raised on Carved-Wood Late 18th C. Pedestal Bases
About the Item
An Italian pair of carved wood wall console tables from the 19th century. This antique pair of tables from Italy each have a rectangular-shaped top, which is supported upon a wooden pedestal base which has been richly carved in volutes and leaves, which stands upon a shapely base with concave cut outs at front sides, and shallow bun feet that give a slight raise from the floor. Note that the wood tops are custom-fashioned with a taupe coloring, and the bases (with wonderful old patina) are from the turn of the 18th and 19th century). This pair of Italian tables are just shy of 3.5 feet in width, and would be remarkable styled together flanking an entryway, feature wall, or perhaps underneath a pair of windows; simply exquisite!
