Pair of 19th Century Roman Neo-Classical St. Cherry Wood Consoles
About the Item
A magnificent pair of Italian early 19th century Neo-Classical st. Cherrywood, brass, and Giallo Verona marble consoles. Each console is from Rome, circa 1810, and is raised by elegant lightly curved square tapered Cherrywood legs with richly carved ebonized Cherrywood lion paw feet and finely detailed lion heads above connected by most decorative fitted brass fillets. Above each leg are cut corners with a fine fluted designs flanking the straight aprons also displaying fine straight and mottled brass fillets and showcasing the beautiful wood grain. Above are the original Giallo Verona marble tops with cut corners and finely mottled borders.
