A very fine and rare pair of French 19th century Empire style giltwood carved and ebonized gesso figural console tables with figures of winged lions and fitted with grey marble tops, in the manner of Pierre-Philippe Thomire (1751–1843). The lower backing with a mirror plate, Pairs, circa 1890.
Measures: Height 37 3/8 inches (95 cm)
width 56 3/4 inches (144 cm)
depth 20 1/2 inches (52 cm).

- Condition:Repaired: Marble top has some restoration. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor fading. A beautiful pair of consoles, very impressive. Some of the gilt has rubbing and minor wear. The marble top has restorations. The mirror plate has some age spotting and wear on silver. Overall condition is good. See all images.
