Antique colonial desk or console. The patina on this teak wood is beautiful. Hand carved legs with the original remnants of color and beautiful carving around the side, make this a special piece. This desk or console has been restored to its authentic roots. It’s all in the details. Full dimensions; 60” wide x 35″ deep x 35.5″ high x leg room 27″ high.
This desk or console was hand made in the spirit of wabi-sabi, a Japanese philosophy that beauty can be found in imperfection and impermanence. It is a beauty of things modest and humble. A beauty of things unconventional. It is the opposite of vulgarity. The costs of achieving this kind of minimalism are seemingly inconsistent with its mission of aesthetic humility.
