Vintage Louis XVI Style Hand Painted and Breche Violette Marble Top Console

About the Item

20th c., Louis XVI style carved and painted console features, most notably, a top of gorgeous 1.25" thick breche de violette marble. An elaborate apron is found under the marble top, set with three frieze drawers lush with gold painted decoration in a floriate design. Each tapering fluted leg is adorned with gold painted acanthus leaves. Carved and painted scrolling stretchers are joined by a beautifully carved and painted finial standing at the center. For similar see LaMaison London. Dimensions: 37"h x 83"w x 24"d Condition: Good, nice patina to painted surface. Nicks and scratches and minor hairlines throughout marble are consistent with age and use. Shows well. Ready to place.
