Carlo Hauner (1927 – 1996) Desk (special order), c. 1950 Moveis Artesanal label Caviuna solid wood and veneer 75 × 180 × 80 cm 29 53/100 × 70 87/100 × 31 1/2 in This exceptional desk, a special commission from the early 1950s, is a rare example of Carlo Hauner’s first creative period. It was made for an apartment in France and reflects the designer’s refined, functional approach typical of the time. The front, top, and sides are finished in caviuna veneer, while the conical legs—distinctive of the shapes Hauner developed in the early 1950s—are made of solid caviuna wood. The composition features two drawer units, each with three drawers and two shelves, offering a perfect balance between elegant design and practical structure. Provenance: Private Collection, Paris
