Early 19th century Regency davenport writing desk

About the Item

Fine quality Regency davenport, circa 1820. Spindle gallery to the top leading to the original leather writing surface. Top opens to reveal a richly colored interior with 2 drawers. Writing slope lifts up and with the aid of 2 brass arms, maintains a level writing surface. 4 lockable drawers to one side with pull out pen tray, mirrored on the opposite side with dummies. Standing on plinth base with brass castors. Some loss to leather surface but is original. Minor surface marks and restorations to veneer.
