About the Item

This Drexel Profile Model K44 extending dining table is both striking in scale and versatile in function. Its walnut and pecan top, supported by robust metal glides, opens effortlessly to accommodate intimate gatherings or lavish dinners. The table’s silhouette is the product of mid-century ingenuity by John Van Koert, conceived for Drexel’s “Profile” line in the mid‑1950s. Here, minimalism is elevated: the tapered legs curve gently into a sculpted, bow-tie shaped skirt that adds a subtle flourish of modern flair. There are no abrupt angles—only a sweeping continuity that grants this piece a refined, architectural presence in any setting. Drexel Furniture's "Profile" line was designed by John van Koert and released in mid-1955. van Koert was already well-known at the time for designing Towle's "Contour" line of cutlery, as well as Drexel "Projection." He was also the director of "Design in Scandinavia," a traveling museum exhibition that went around the United States showcasing pieces from 1954-1957 and helped spark the US interest in Danish design. The extensive Profile group has great poise and although contemporary in spirit, is adaptable and answers the demand for furniture that neither fakes the spirit of a past style nor merely expresses a designer's whim.  Please note, the leaves and table sections have varying color tones. The leaves were most likely stored away from light and have a slightly darker tone. Only very minor imperfections remain. Closed: 62 in (157 cm) long × 40 in (102 cm) wide × 29.5 in (75 cm) high Fully Extended: 98 in (249 cm) long (including three 12‑inch [30 cm] leaves)

Vintage Heywood Wakefield Wheat Finish X Base Square Coffee Table
By Heywood-Wakefield Co.
Located in Chattanooga, TN
There's a rich, deep, aged honey patina on this wheat finish birch / maple. We achieved a a near perfect muted grain and color match to the top surface that we delicately restored. This sleek, study, understated and classic modern coffee table embraces mid-century minimalism design. The "X" base with intersecting spanners adds an appealing architectural elegance that remains timeless to this day. Sculpted, and assembled with no visible hardware. This restored Heywood-Wakefield 392-G square coffee table is an elegant expression of mid-century minimalism, crafted in the signature wheat-maple finish that has made the brand so revered. It measures approximately 36 inches by 36 inches (91 × 91 cm) across the top, and stands about 15.75 inches (40 cm) high — a scale that delivers both generous surface area and low, relaxed visual impact. The design is beautifully composed: a square tabletop with softened edges floats above an intersecting “X”-base, with crossed stretchers that add structural elegance and visual interest without heaviness. The wheat finish has a muted grain: blond tones, subtle warmth, and a light yet rich surface that reflects light softly while grounding surrounding furnishings. The craftsmanship is clean: wood joints are refined, hardware is concealed, allowing the form and wood grain to speak. Restoration has been carried out with great attention to authenticity. The tabletop has been professionally refinished to match original specifications: color, finish sheen, and grain pattern restored. Minor imperfections remain — tiny surface marks and perhaps slight variances on the X-base spanners — but these serve as testament to its vintage provenance rather than detractions. The legs and base are solid and stable; the table presents as both handsome and durable. Because of its proportions and design, this piece works beautifully in a range of interiors. It can anchor a sprawling seating area in a living room, serve as the central gathering point in a lounge, or provide surface and sculptural presence in modern or Scandinavian-light-wood interiors. Its square silhouette allows symmetry in layout; its wheat finish harmonizes with wood tones, brass or matte metal accents, soft upholstery, and even minimalist or muted color palettes. We're certain you won't find a more sublime vintage rendition of this coffee table anywhere. Stamped by the maker with illegible date. Excellent restored vintage condition. Top has been professionally refinished by our in-house cabinet shop.Only very minor age appropriate imperfections remain on the legs and spanners. Heywood Wakefield Coffee Table...

Modern Minimalist Rosewood Rectangular Dining Table With Tubular Legs
By Arne Vodder
Located in Chattanooga, TN
Custom made, one-of-one modern minimalist rosewood dining table, vintage Nineteen-Laties (late 20th Century). This sleek dining table is all about showcasing the exceptional cut of rosewood used to fabricate the table top. Honey and cinnamon colors contrast with deep cherry chocolate hues, giving the grain brilliant appeal. The color and motion in the wood figuring is simply exquisite. No further ornament is needed. The elegant table is supported by four cylindrical legs. This uniform round leg is a much appreciated lark, deviating from the typical pencil turned tapered or even square legs. A Minimalist masterpiece is one that can capture harmony and beauty in a seemingly simple, albeit genius way. Judging by this metric, we’d rate this table a winner. The table is pictured with six chairs but can comfortably seat eight. You may even be able to fit ten guests depending on chair size. The classic table design makes it easy to blend with many styles. It’s a modern table, but we have it paired with Chinoiserie chairs in the picture (the chairs are not included). Consider pairing these with Danish, farmhouse...
