About the Item
A 17th CENTURY SPANISH OAK REFECTORY/SERVING TABLE with over hanging cleated plank top that lays above a carved frieze with fitted drawers and a convex waist mold, raised on ringed turned legs joined by base stretchers.
A very good and genuine table having original top and drawers, this is a rare find as most tables of this period would have later table tops applied. The stretcher’s are worn on the corners as expected for something that’s not far off 400 years old. The top has a split between the planks and has a metal bracket around the end, added later for stability and prevent splitting. This is an excellent find and the coloring of the table top reflects years of use and history
With a little TLC, and a good quality furniture polish it will look awesome.

An 18th Century Oak Cupboard
Located in Flower Mound, TX
A splendid example of a 18th Century Georgian oak cupboard from around 1760. The exterior shell is genuine and untouched, with the interior have some modifications and improvements added through the years. The right side door opens to a compartment with hanging pegs and the bottom is open to a short drawer. The left hand side has the same pegging with later added shelving and brass latch. The bottom is closed with a full drawer. Cupboard does have a key. The coloring is absolutely beautiful.
Provenance: The Fulwood Collection
The Fulwood Collection comes from a Grade II listed rectory in the North of England. Formerly the childhood home of Sir Douglas Bader. The rectory was acquired by the late owner approximately 15 years ago. The house was formerly split into two separate houses, and with care he lovingly refurbished it back into a single house and refurnished in a blend of the Grand Tour style with Welsh and English provincial tastes. This property contained fine furniture, works of art, paintings, ceramics and other miscellaneous items some of which were purchased by “The Englishman’s Antiques”
