20th Mariano Garcia Spanish Side Table with Siena Marble and Carved Base
About the Item
An Italian Rococo style round side table with Siena marble over a richly carved base from the 20th century. This exquisite Spanish side table features a “giallo Siena” marble top (yellow veined marble) over a hand-carved, painted base. The apron is adorned on all sides with typical Mariano Garcia motifs .
The table is on four cabriole legs with scrolled feet, adorned with acanthus leaves and flowers carved in high relief. An elaborate cross-stretcher, made of alternating c-scrolls, connects the legs to one another, meeting in the centre with a delicate bouquet of flowers.
The beauty of the marble top is enhanced by the intricacy of the base. The old age paint shows the history of the piece. Perfect to be used as a side table, the carving on all sides will also allow this table to float in any room.
