About the Item
HVLimón is a Los Angeles-based artist, originally from México. An architect by trade, yet a self-taught artist always experimenting and testing the established limits of design throughout his career.
Recently he launched his creative studio in the burgeoning Port of LA neighborhood, where he designs and creates contemporary furniture and artworks made primarily out of concrete, featuring his patent-pending ultra-lightweight formula that maintains the strength and durability of the medium, while making it two-thirds lighter than conventional concrete.
His latest collection, another manifestation of his architectural training and unorthodox methods, expresses bold lines and sculptural silhouettes balanced to evoke an overall striking yet composed effect.
Currently he has two pieces exhibited as part of the permanent collection of the sculpture garden at MOLAA -- Museum of Latin American Art, the largest museum in the U.S featuring work from Latin American artists.
