Acerbis Extra Large Maestro Table in Black Ash Wood by Gianfranco Frattini

About the Item

Created at the end of the 1990s by architect Gianfranco Frattini, the Maestro table combines design vision and excellence in the of Italian cabinetmaking savoir faire. Wood is Frattini’s favourite material and reveals his passion through all his projects. The current version follows the original design and maintains its aesthetic appearance but introduces more contemporary wood and dimensions. which are consistent with living areas and domestic interiors. Structure and top The Maestro table is composed of a base made of solid black ash wood or dark stained walnut which emphasises and embellish the structure, the stand’s slatted design is synonymous with quality and authenticity. The top is made of 30 mm thick medium density wood fibre, with a special inlaid and brushed open grain veneer, in black ash and dark stained walnut finishes. These processes require a great manufacturing skill and a deep knowledge of wood. The table is made from a single material, H73 cm in the following sizes: D90xL250; D100xL300; D100xL350. Gianfranco Frattini was born in Padua in 1926. He graduated with a degree in Architecture from the Politecnico di Milano in 1953. Frattini opened his own professional practice in Milan, after having worked in the office of his teacher and mentor Gio Ponti. In 1956 he co-founded ADI – Associazione per il Disegno Industriale – and throughout his career he practised both industrial design and architecture, focusing mostly on interiors. He was a board member of the Triennale di Milano. Great connoisseur of wood craftsmanship, he forged a long and fruitful professional partnership with the master craftsman Pierluigi Ghianda.
