About the Item
Austrian decorative majolica plate, marked "Made in Austria." This rich three dimensionally decorated wall charger is a majolica pottery highly decorative example by the well regarded Austrian Gebruder Schutz factory.
It is circular with a deep relief design of a naturalistic view of beautiful Athena playing the flute in a circular design in mixed tones of light brown over a vivid blue ground with an incised floral and foliate pattern.
It is in very good condition with no damage or restoration. Austrian, circa 1890
Features relief cherub and mythological scene with Athena, model number 155.
Richly colored and detailed design.
