Pair of French Limoges Porcelain Plaques with Bronze Frames, Early 20th Century

About the Item

Celebrate classical elegance with this refined pair of wall-hanging Limoges porcelain plaques, crafted in France circa 1900 in the Neoclassical Revival style. Signed “C.T. Limoges” on the front and marked “Limoges France” on the reverse, each plaque is executed in the jasper-ware technique, featuring delicately modeled white Bas-Relief scenes on a soft blue ground. One depicts winged cherubs playing musical instruments, while the other shows cherubs armed with bows and arrows. Both scenes include fluttering doves and billowing clouds, evoking a celestial atmosphere. The rectangular plaques are mounted in finely cast gilt bronze frames decorated at the pediment with the traditional Louis XVI ribbon-tied bow. These decorative objects are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and would make an elegant addition to a formal salon, bedroom, or gallery wall. Measures: 6.75"W x 5.25"H
