(1) Large lava cameo approximately 2 1/4” x 1 3/4” depicts robed woman in thinker position flanked by (4) smaller lavas cameos are facial portrait only in this framed collection. Cameos are surrounded by split pearls and semiprecious stones in a gilt beaded wooden frame with wire on back for hanging.
In the 19th century, artisans utilized lava to create cameos.

Victorian Wicker Loveseat

Part of a large collection of ornate Victorian wicker that was collected over the years by a Senator's wife. This rolled woven arm loveseat has wicker curlicues in the open areas under the side arm rests. Across the back are alternating lattice weaving and woven portions. The woven skirt comes from the top of the back leg to a mid-point on the front leg and returns to a shorter curved skirt in the center front. It is a delightful example of a late Victorian love seat.
