19th Century Portrait / Oil on Canvas

About the Item

Mid-19th century signed portrait made of oil on canvas, representing a woman or lady form the middle class bourgeoisie. The subject is wearing green clothing with a white collar and a brown ribbon around the neck and has a typical 3/4 angle pose. Her pulled up hair reveals an intriguing face with delicate and elegant features, pretty green eyes and gives an overall sense of peacefulness. The frame is still from the origin of the painting, it is in stucco (a mix of plaster and painted wood) and wears consistent traces of wear and use due to the passage of time. The painting and the frame could be refreshed or could easily stay in its original state to keep a vintage feeling.
