Originally from Corsica, Pascal Simonpietri translates through his writing his admiration for expressionism into an instinctive pictorial gesture.
His vocabulary, his tangy playful figures, his signs speak of life as he imagines it, both tender and restless, but always generous like the broad spectrum of his palette. Through this sincere and authentic painting, the CoBra Movement seems to come back to life and say again that the best is yet to come. He is a figure very discreet of the Figuration Libre Mouvement during the 80''s and was a partner at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Nice, Villa Arson. He was contemporain of Di Rosa and Albert Chubac, who was a good friend to him. He was active until 2000 when he prematurely died. His way of painting is totally free with a very rich and innovative playful vocabulary of colors.
