Antique French miniature paintings signed, Portraits Napoleon and Josephine Antique 19th century French miniature portrait pair hand-painting of Napoleon Bonaparte, Emperor of French, in red costume of consul of the republic and his wife Josephine de Beauharnais, Empress, in Imperial costume. Of oval shape, the small portraits are finely painted with the likeness. The old ebonized frames are original to this paintings, and presents them well beneath the original cover glasses. Each with hanging loop in back. This is undoubtedly a pair, because the two frames were signed by the painter Andre and the page of the book covering the rear parts of the frames shows that they are taken from the same page of an old book, reading can be done from one frame to another. Dimensions: Frames: 4"7 (12 cm). Paintings: 2"5 high (6.4 cm). Weight: 198 grams. Very good condition for age and type. Shipping and insurance information: Sales only by shipment.
